Elements can be created by right-clicking the element below which you want to attach the new element and selecting Create New... > Element > [Element type] from the pop-up menu or dragging the desired kind of element from the Elements section in the Tool Palette. However, as we use the QPR Instant Score Template in this exercise, we can take advantage of its predefined array of elements, which allows rapid scorecard construction. So we will construct the basic structure of the model by copying and pasting the ready-made model elements.
Exercise 99: Add Elements to a Model by Copying and Pasting.
|1. Create a new model based on the QPR Instant Score Template.|
|2. Open the Scorecard Navigator.|
|3. Click the button to expand the scorecard hierarchy:|
|4. Similarly, click the button to expand the Custom Perspective <Copy to create mode> branch.|
|5. Select the Strategic Objective <Copy to create more> element and click the Copy button on the Home tab of the ribbon. Alternatively, you can also right-click the element and select Copy from the pop-up menu or press Ctrl+C.|
|6. Select the Customer element and click the Paste button on the Home tab of the ribbon. Alternatively, you can also right-click the element and select Paste from the pop-up menu, or press Ctrl+V.|
|7. Right-click the pasted element and select Rename from the pop-up menu. Type "Exceed Customer Expectations" as the name. Alternatively, you can select the pasted element and press F2 or click the Rename button on the Home tab of the ribbon.|
|8. Similarly, copy the Measure - Maximize - Quarter <Copy to create more> element under the Maximize Measures element:|
|9. Paste the Measure - Maximize - Quarter <Copy to create more> element under the Exceed Customer Expectations element and rename it to "Customer Satisfaction":|
