In previous versions, when an element type has had the "Check for duplicates when pasting" and "Allow multiple instances" behaviors enabled, it has not been possible to copy and paste elements of that type as new elements. Instead, new instance of the existing element has been created. Starting from QPR 2016, there is a "Paste as New Element(s)" option in the Paste menu in the ribbon. Clicking the button will paste the copied element(s) from the clipboard as new element(s).
