The Auto Numbering Wizard dialog is used to set values for the custom attributes of the type 'Order number' automatically. The numbering can then be utilized, for example, in Diagram Hierarchy Ordering. The Auto numbering Wizard is used in the following way:

1.To open the Auto Numbering Wizard dialog, click the Auto Numbering Wizard button on the Home tab of the ribbon or right-click on the diagram drawing area, a main process, a core process, a subprocess, or a diagram item, and select Auto Numbering Wizard from the popup menu.

2.From the Possible custom attributes drop down list, select the custom attribute you want to set values for. Note that you need to create a custom attribute of the type 'Order number' and define it for the model object types before it can be selected from the list. Then, select the model object types you want to include in the numbering from the Possible Model Object Types list and click Next.

3.In the Additional Options section, select Renumber to overwrite existing numbering. If you want to preserve possible existing values, select the Preserve Original Values check box, and  select Continue from Current Largest Value to have the numbering start from the largest existing value. To clear the numbering values, select Clear Values.

4.You can also select how many child diagrams the wizard should drill down to from the Drill Down Depth section. To drill down through all child diagrams, select the Infinite Drill Down. After choosing these additional options, click Process.

5.The wizard will set the values for the custom attributes according to the modeling direction similarly to "Diagram flow" selection in Diagram Hierarchy Ordering. Click Close to close the wizard.

Note:

Only the elements inside the selected parent diagram are counted in the numbering, i.e. the parent diagram element itself does not get a value even if it has been assigned a custom attribute that is used in the auto numbering. If you want to include the parent diagram element in the auto numbering, right-click the diagram drawing area on the diagram where the element is and then choose Auto Numbering Wizard.

If the auto numbering is done once already, the Preserve Original Values check box is selected, and the Continue from Current Largest Value check box is unselected when the auto numbering is done again, it can result in the same numbers being used in multiple elements.

Elements with multiple instances are counted only once, i.e. they get the number of their first occurrence.
