When you have created the elements and evaluated the model coherence, it is time to input data in the elements. After that, your elements are ready to start measuring corporate performance.

Data input must start at the lowest possible element level, i.e. the lowest sub-elements. You can either input value data for a element manually or use the import functions. You can import data from SQL databases or from QPR Modeling Client. Element values can be modified in the Value tab of the Element Properties window.

Inputting Sub-element Data Manually

Inputting values into an element is done from the Value tab of the Element Properties window. However, in order to enter values into an element, you must first define the series, ranges and value settings of the model. This are important settings as they allow information to be reused in other elements.

In the Value tab of the Element Properties window, select the series for which you would like to assign values. Next you must enter values for the desired periods:

1.Select the field of the period specific value in the lower frame of the window. Or select the period for which you want to enter a value, from the Period drop-down box.
2.Enter the series' value for this period into the Value text field.
3.Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each period you wish to assign values for.
