The information hierarchy shows all information items included in the whole model and connections between them. At the top level you see all information items, which are not connected to any other information item. If you have not made any connections between information items, a simple list of information items is shown.

Creating New Information Items

You can create new information items by selecting the "New Information Item..." command from the pop-up menu accessible by clicking the right mouse button.

Modifying

By selecting an information item and using the pop-up menu (click the right mouse button) you can set properties of the selected information item. Information hierarchy can be modified by adding new information items by pasting or creating new ones, or arranging the connections by dragging and dropping information items over the connected information item (to add an additional parent information item to the items being dragged, hold down the SHIFT key). You can also remove information items by pressing the Delete key when the desired information items are selected. Depending on the type of the element and the column in the view, the value in a cell can be edited by typing in the value, selecting a checkbox, or selecting the value from a drop-down menu. Note that all values, such as "Last Changed", are not editable. See also the Transfer Model Elements via Clipboard topic for information about copy and paste operations.

Adding Existing Information Items to an Element

You can add an existing information item to an element by dragging and dropping the information item from the Navigator to the diagram.

See the Navigator View Settings topic for information on how to define the settings for the view.
