The custom element hierarchy shows all the elements under the user defined custom element hierarchy in the model. The first node is the custom element hierarchy. Connected to it are the elements included in that level of hierarchy and connected to those elements are the elements under the second level of the hierarchy and so on.
Creating New Custom Elements
To create new custom elements in the Navigator, select either a custom element or the root of the hierarchy, click the right mouse button to open the pop-up menu and select the "New Element..." command from the menu.
By selecting an element and using the pop-up menu (click the right mouse button) you can set properties of the whole model (in case the element is a normal process step) or the selected element, expand or collapse the hierarchy, cut, copy, paste or delete the element. Note that sub elements are not copied in custom element hierarchies, so when doing copy and paste operations the sub elements are lost in the copy. The element hierarchy can be modified by drag-and-dropping the elements. You can also remove elements by pressing the Delete key when the desired elements are selected. Note that when a custom element hierarchy is deleted, the navigator view settings for the hierarchy are not deleted but changed to show the default hierarchy of the model (the diagram hierarchy). Depending on the type of the element and the column in the view, the value in a cell can be edited by typing in the value, selecting a checkbox, or selecting the value from a drop-down menu. Note that all values, such as "Last Changed", are not editable. See also the Transfer Model Elements via Clipboard topic for information about copy and paste operations.
See the Navigator View Settings topic for information on how to define the settings for the view.
