In QPR ScoreCard, a model refers to your organization. When you create a model of your organization, a scorecard is automatically created as well. If the organization requires, it can be very useful to develop additional scorecards to represent different sub-groups, or business units, within the organization. The idea that you can have a model with numerous scorecards is important for two reasons: firstly, it is not necessary to create separate models for different scorecards, and secondly, it can assist in visualizing, evaluating and improving the links up and down the organizational hierarchy as well as between scorecards.

 

Thus, the main ingredients of a model include scorecards as well as the items belonging to the scorecards, namely, elements, linked elements and information items.

 

In QPR ScoreCard you can customize your views and graphics in many ways for maximum impact and ease of communication. Many graphics options are closely related to a functionality of the software.

Models in the QPR ScoreCard are saved to the ScoreCard Server. Once a model has been exported to a file format, then it can be easily handled like any other file, e.g. saved to disk, attached to an e-mail, etc.

Things to Note Before Developing Your Model

 

One Model:  Only one model can be opened at a time. When you have a model open and then request to open another, the current model is closed before the next model is opened.
Automatic Saving:  QPR ScoreCard does not contain a separate Save function because all changes made to the model are automatically saved to the server.
Default Language:  The default language of the software is English but it can be changed to any of the other available languages in the ScoreCard Options window accessible from the Application Menu.
Availability of Models:  Only models that reside on the server can be opened in QPR ScoreCard. To open any other model, it must be imported into the system before it can be opened in QPR ScoreCard.
Model Duplicates:  You can make a copy of your model when you want to experiment with modifications without jeopardizing the original model.
Multiple Server Support: QPR ScoreCard allows easy switching between servers. To switch to another server (usually containing different models), select the desired server from the Server submenu under the Model menu.
