Viewing an element:

To view a certain element, click the element's symbol in the Hierarchy View. This will open the element in the Measure View. Likewise, an element's information items can be viewed by clicking the information item once. If an element has references to another scorecard, you can open the target scorecard by clicking the name of the reference at the upper left corner of the element.

Note: If the model has links to QPR Modeling Client views, the links are visible only if the corresponding QPR Modeling Client model is currently loaded into QPR Portal memory. One way to ensure this is to open the model in the Processes tab. Another possibility is to set all models to be loaded to memory in QPR Configuration Manager. However, this might have performance implications in environments with lots of large models.

Viewing or hiding subelements:

If you are using Silverlight and the subelements have been hidden in the view, you can view the hidden subelements by moving the mouse on the element and clicking the + sign which is displayed at the bottom of the element shape which has subelements when the mouse is moved over it. After clicking the + sign, the view is reloaded to show the subelements of that element. To hide the subelements again, click the - sign at the bottom of the element shape.

If you are using SVG, the Hide/Show subelements options are not currently available.

Navigating the View Using the Navigation Toolbar

The Hierarchy View has a floating navigation toolbar for easier navigation. In the case the toolbar is not visible and you want to use it, right-click on the view and select "Show Navigation Toolbar" from the pop-up menu. The toolbar can be freely moved anywhere in the view by pressing down the left mouse button, dragging the toolbar to the desired position, and releasing the button. The toolbar has the following buttons:

btn_svg_scroll

Scroll. There are two arrows for all four main directions. Clicking the small arrow scrolls the view to the selected direction a shorter distance, while the larger arrow scrolls a longer distance.

btn_svg_center

Original View. Returns the view to the state it was in when you opened the view.

btn_svg_move

Move. Click this button to switch between the moving mode and the selection mode. When clicking the hand button, the view changes into moving mode where you can move the scorecard around in the view and the button changes to the select arrow select. Clicking on the arrow button restores the view into selection mode.

btn_svg_fitscreen

Fit to View. Centers the scorecard to the screen and zooms it to the largest possible size where the whole scorecard is still visible.

btn_svg_zoom

Zoom In/Out. Click the + button to zoom in the view and the - button to zoom out the view.

btn_svg_close

Close. Hides the navigation toolbar. The bar can be hidden also by selecting "Hide Navigation Toolbar" from the pop-up menu that can be accessed by clicking the right mouse button in the view. The toolbar can be shown again by selecting "Show Navigation Toolbar" from the aforementioned pop-up menu. However, the pop-up menu is not available with all SVG viewers or with Silverlight.

Note that the toolbar or the pop-up menu items related to the toolbar do not work with all SVG viewers or with Silverlight. Refer to QPR Administrator's Guide for more information.

Navigating the View Without the Navigation Toolbar

In the case the navigation toolbar is hidden, the following navigation possibilities are still available:

Zooming:

When SVG is used, you can zoom in and out by using the mouse scroll wheel.

Dragging:

When SVG is used, to move the entire element hierarchy in the window, click and drag your mouse across the view.
