The Paste Special command can be used only when the Hierarchy Views or the Dashboards view is active.

 

The following operations are possible in the Hierarchy Views:

•Paste the symbol layout of the copied element to the currently selected element. Other properties of the selected element are left intact.

 

The following operations are possible in the Dashboards view:

•Paste the symbol layout of the copied element to the currently selected element. Other properties of the selected element are left intact.

•Paste a view instance. This is done when the Paste Special command is used when there is an element on the clipboard and no element is selected in the Dashboards view.
