When external information is linked to information item in QPR Modeling Client only the location of the information is stored to the model. The actual information stays where it was before linking. When the external information is changed the changes are immediately available via QPR Modeling Client.

Defining information locations requires special attention. The information cannot be located for example on the modeler's local hard disk since the information location is not valid to anyone else.

Pros:

• No need to change QPR Modeling Client model if the information is changed

• QPR Modeling Client model size remains compact

Cons:

• The information location must be valid to every person who needs access to information
