Connector Graphical Properties Dialog
|
||
For a connector the following graphical properties can be set:
• | Show or hide the connector on the current process level |
• | Show or hide the Name, Source and destination name, Source and destination process level, or any custom attribute types that have been defined for the connector type in the Connector Type dialog |
• | Properties of the text box for any of the attributes shown |
• | Line style and line's begin and end styles |
• | Line's width in pixels |
• | Line's color |
Model elements for which graphical properties have not been set are shown using the default graphical properties. Setting graphical properties overrides the default properties. View settings, on the other hand, can override graphical properties regarding visible fields.
If you have selected more than one connector of the same type and you change the graphical settings, only those settings that have really changed in the graphical settings dialog are changed to all the selected flows. If the selected connectors do not have the same values for the property, the value field is empty.
Source and Destination Names and Process Levels
By showing a connector's source and destination names, you can then see from where incoming connectors are coming and to where outgoing connectors are going. For example, in the following picture, the connector's destination is shown. This allows the model browser to see that the connector leads to the "Check configuration" process step. The source and destination process step name text boxes can be configured similarly as other text boxes related to connectors by clicking the Properties button. This setting works only on connectors that have the circle at the beginning or the end of the connector indicating that they are coming from or going to another level.
By showing a connector's source and destination process levels, you can see more clearly what process level the connector is coming from and what process level the connector is going to. The source and the destination levels are shown otherwise in the same manner as in the picture above, but the process level names are in brackets. The source and destination process level name text boxes can be configured similarly as other text boxes related to connectors by clicking the Properties button. This setting works only on connectors that have the circle at the beginning or the end of the connector indicating that they are coming from or going to another level.
Line Style and Color
The style and color of the connector can be defined in the Line Style and Color section.
Select the line style from the Line style drop-down box. The options are:
• | Elbow: With this option the connector makes 90 degree turns in order to reach its destination. |
• | Elbow - rounded: This type is very similar to the Elbow type and works in the same way except that the corners (elbows) are rounded with a fixed radius. |
• | Straight: The connector goes straight from the source element to the destination element. |
• | Curve: This type resembles the Elbow type, but it makes smooth turns instead of 90 degree turns. |
The width of the connector line can be defined by typing the desired value into the Line width box.
You can choose the style for the starting end of the connector by selecting the desired graphics from the Begin style drop-down box.
You can choose the style for the end of the connector by selecting the desired graphics from the End style drop-down box.
You can choose the size for the starting end of the connector by selecting the desired size from the Begin size drop-down box. The box is available if the begin style is something else than a straight line.
You can choose the size for the end of the connector by selecting the desired size from the End size drop-down box. The box is available if the end style is something else than a straight line.
The connector's color can be defined from the Edge color drop down menu.
