    Appendix B: Windows Registry Usage

    The QPR 2023.1 Clients installation writes entries to the Windows Registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\QPR Software Plc.\QPR 2023.1 Clients folder. Note that on 64-bit Windows systems the Registry keys are located in the 32-bit portion of the Registry and the root path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\QPR Software Plc.\QPR 2023.1 Clients.

    The registry keys are as follows:

    The QPR 2023.1 Servers installation writes entries to the Windows Registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\QPR Software Plc.\QPR 2023.1 Servers folder.

    The registry keys are as follows:

    Registry entries under \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\QPR Software Plc.\QPR 2023.1 Servers\InstalledFeatures

     

    QPR Add-In for Microsoft Office installation requires Registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\[Wow6432Node\]Microsoft\Office\[12.0 or 14.0 depending on the Office version]\User Settings and their relative counterparts under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive.

     

    Installers also write entries related to shortcuts to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\QPR Software Plc.\QPR 2023.1 Servers\Shortcuts and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\QPR Software Plc.\QPR 2023.1 Clients\Shortcuts. These should not be modified to ensure proper software functionality.

     

    In addition, the Windows Installer engine creates various entries that are necessary for uninstallation and upgrades.
