The Reference button on the Insert tab of the ribbon allows you to add references to other elements inside the active model. To create a reference, follow the steps below:

 

1.First you need to select the parent element under which the reference should be inserted. Select the element using either the Hierarchy Views, the Dashboards view, or the Scorecard Navigator.

2.Click the Reference button on the Insert tab of the ribbon.

3.The References window opens for defining the elements that are referenced by the selected parent element. See Copies/References window for more information about how to select the elements.

 

Note that you can create a reference also by right-clicking an element in the Scorecard Navigator and selecting the "Create Reference..." option from the pop-up menu.
