It is possible to refresh the contents of an embedded information item. With the help of this feature it is easy to update also the embedded information item in the model when the original item is updated without having to embed the information item again. There are several ways of using the information item refresh feature:

Automatic Refresh

You can set the information items to be refreshed every time the model is saved. This is done in the Information Items tab in the Model Properties dialog. To activate the automatic refresh, check the "Refresh automatically when saving the model" checkbox. If you wish to verify the refresh every time the model is saved, check also the "Always ask for confirmation" checkbox. Note that the automatic refresh will not work if the user does not have administrator rights to the model. Even if the administrator has set the automatic refresh on, it will not work if the model is edited and saved by a normal user.

Manual Refresh

Manual refresh can be done in two ways; separately for selected information items or as a batch refresh for all the information items in the model. To perform the batch refresh, go to the Information Items tab in the Model Properties dialog and click the Refresh All Now button. Note that the batch refresh will not work if the user does not have administrator rights to the model.

The refresh can be done separately for selected information items as well. This is done by clicking the Refresh button in the Information Item dialog. Single information item can be refreshed by normal users as well.
