Linked elements describe the qualitative information of an element. This feature allows you to attach data to elements to ensure that you are monitoring relevant things. The linked element does not affect the element's functionality or calculations in any way. It is meant to provide background information and support the element in a flexible manner.
For linked elements to be defined, a linked element type must first be defined. For example, if you are defining an element that calculates, for instance, sales figures, then you could attach to it a linked element type called "Goal", and define a goal called "Achieve maximal sales".
Linked elements can also promote employee involvement. Since employees can be given access to view, edit or comment on linked elements, they are given the opportunity to be involved in the company's future planning.
