The Paste Stencil dialog is used to select which stencil graphical properties are pasted to the target element(s). This dialog is accessible from the Home tab of the ribbon by clicking Paste Stencil, selecting Paste Special > Paste Stencil on the diagram pop-up menu, or by selecting Paste Stencil on the Tool Palette pop-up menu.
Paste Stencil and Custom Graphical Properties
If the source stencil uses a custom setting for some graphical property (for example, "Use default line style" has been unchecked in the graphical properties of the source process step), Paste Stencil and Format Painter will set the target element(s) to use custom settings.
If the source stencil uses the default settings for some graphical property, Paste Stencil and Format Painter will set the target element(s) to use the default settings, if the default settings of the target element are the same as in the source stencil. If the default settings are different, the target element(s) are set to use custom settings.
